Omron's Combination Jog Switch gives users a single user interface with which to quickly and easily scroll through lists and make choices. Five tactile selector switches - a center pushbutton and four peripheral push points - are combined with a rotational jog feature (clockwise and anti-clockwise). Using both functions, users can navigate through lists of songs, names and phone numbers, games or device functions with ease; then make choices with the push of a finger. The Omron disk jog rotational feature empolys two Hall Effect IC sensors and combines them with five tactile switch points. This custom product is designed to meet the needs of each manufacturer's specific product application.

In its August 22 issue, Nikkei Business, one of the most influential business magazines in Japan, ranked Omron eleventh in its 2005 Corporate Social Responsibility ranking. The ranking covered 2,178 companies listed on Section 1 and 2 of Tokyo Stock Exchange, and provided comprehensive evaluations of each company's capacity, systems and determination to fulfill corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The ratings considered five basic criteria: commitment to CSR practices, completeness of CSR reporting, corporate governance, contribution to taxes and employment, and business results and financial standing. Out of a possible 100 points, Omron earned 79.89 points overall. In particular, Omron was highly rated for corporate governance with a score of 9.57 points out of 10, which placed Omron second in this category.
