In its August 22 issue,
Nikkei Business, one of the most influential business magazines
in Japan, ranked Omron eleventh in its 2005 Corporate Social
Responsibility ranking. The ranking covered 2,178 companies
listed on Section 1 and 2 of Tokyo Stock Exchange, and provided
comprehensive evaluations of each company's capacity, systems
and determination to fulfill corporate social responsibility
(CSR).
The ratings considered five basic criteria: commitment to
CSR practices, completeness of CSR reporting, corporate
governance, contribution to taxes and employment, and business
results and financial standing. Out of a possible 100 points,
Omron earned 79.89 points overall. In particular, Omron
was highly rated for corporate governance with a score of
9.57 points out of 10, which placed Omron second in this
category. |
